Editor-in-Chief

Datin ChM Dr Zuriati Zakaria
On behalf of the Editorial Board, I am pleased to welcome our readers, contributors, and authors to the Malaysian Journal of Chemistry (MJChem)—an open-access journal published by the Institut Kimia Malaysia, dedicated to advancing chemical science and scholarly exchange across borders.
MJChem continues to serve as a dynamic platform for high-quality research in all branches of chemistry, including analytical, inorganic, materials, nuclear, organic, natural products, physical, and theoretical chemistry. In addition to these traditional disciplines, we proudly feature emerging and interdisciplinary topics, such as nanotechnology, green chemistry, and sustainable innovation—reflecting the evolving priorities of our scientific community.
Since being accepted for indexing in Scopus in June 2018, MJChem has experienced remarkable growth in both visibility and submission rate. From publishing two issues in 2018, the journal expanded to four issues in 2021—and now, in 2025, we are proud to publish six issues annually. This achievement is a testament to the dedication of our authors, reviewers, and editorial team, and to the increasing relevance of chemistry research in solving global challenges.
We also accept and curate high-quality papers from seminars and scientific meetings, which are rigorously reviewed by distinguished chemists and published as special issues that capture current developments and thought leadership in the field.
I wish to express sincere gratitude to all contributors, authors, reviewers, proofreaders, members of the Editorial Board, and in particular, our Associate Editor, ChM Dr. Ngai Koh Sing, for your continued dedication and support.
As we move forward, let us work collectively to enhance the journal’s impact, increase citations, and position MJChem as a leading publication in the region and beyond.
It is truly a pleasure to have you with us.
